One-car crash in Seneca leads to aggravated DWI charges

Deputies say that on January 26th around 7 p.m. they were called to Old Mill Rd. in the town of Seneca for a one-car property damage crash.

A vehicle operated by Richard DeLong, 25, of Stanley was traveling north when he failed to maintain control of the vehicle and veered off the right shoulder – and down an embankment.

The vehicle then struck a tree. Upon investigation, deputies arrested DeLong for driving while intoxicated. His BAC was found to be over 0.18%, resulting in additional charges.

Deputies said DeLong was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, and driving with a BAC over0.18%. He will appear in local court at a later date to answer the charges.
