Cornell Ag & Tech Park gets $1.4 million grant in Geneva

More than a million dollars in economic development funding is headed to the Cornell Agricultural and Food Technology Park in Geneva.

Congressman Tom Reed said in an announcement that the funding will be used to construct a 20,000 square foot, pre-engineered steel building that will have the ability to house up to three tenants.

He said that when completed, the project will create more manufacturing jobs and attract additional investment for the local business community.

“We care about investing in our local economy and creating an environment where our regional entrepreneurs and innovators can thrive,” said Rep. Tom Reed. “This project will create jobs, bolster the local business community, and greatly benefit Ontario County. We were proud to support this funding and we will continue to fight for fair access to these grants to improve local economies across the district.”

“On behalf of the Board of the Tech Farm we are very pleased to have received notice of EDA funding for Tech Farm 2,” said Michael Manikowski, Ontario County IDA executive director. “The new building will allow us to continue providing space and assistance for new ag food and beverage processing ventures in the City of Geneva and Ontario County. We would like to thank Congressman Reed for his support in helping us obtain this very important assistance that will promote more high-quality economic development in our area.”
