The New York State Department of Health has decided that it will uphold its 10 p.m. curfew on indoor and outdoor dining.
Over the last several days, restaurants and bars in the Buffalo-area requested that the Department of Health put it on pause for the day – as the Buffalo Bills play in their second playoff game of the year.
Fans are being allowed at the stadium, but bars and restaurants will have to close at 10 p.m.
A DOH spokesman told News10NBC that the policy was ‘commonsense’.
“The fact is the CDC has specifically pointed to indoor dining as a higher-risk activity, and this policy is a commonsense way to reduce the risk of exposure. As much as we feel for restaurants in Buffalo and as much as we want to let fans watch the game at bars, we won’t sacrifice public health,” officials said.
