The new majority leader in the U.S. Senate has opened the door to additional stimulus checks, as well as an infrastructure spending bill.
“This is a good bill but we’re going to have to do more in terms of trying to get a large infrastructure bill which will employ a lot of people, as I said I’d like to get more direct checks to people to stimulate the economy,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said.
The $900 billion bill that recently saw $600 checks going out to most Americans that make less than $75,000 was only considered a first step. He says it’s not the end.
Schumer said that the bill would also include much needed relief for states and localities, which were hit hard by the Coronavirus Pandemic and economic shutdowns that followed.
