Henderson Ford made a $700 donation to Embrace Your Sisters in support of short-term financial needs within the community by those with breast cancer diagnoses.
Embrace Your Sisters is a nonprofit organization that is committed to providing emergency financial support for people with breast cancer in 13 counties: Allegany, Cayuga, Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne and Yates.
“We are happy to be able to help nonprofit organizations at this time. The coronavirus has negatively affected many nonprofits financially and it is important that they can continue to serve others in our area. EYS provides support and hope to individuals undergoing breast cancer recovery, through educational resources and emergency finances. This is a cause that hits home for us, as our family witnessed needed treatment, first hand. So, we can relate to the toll it takes on individuals and families. We want to help as many people as we can,” Henderson Ford President Randy Henderson said.
Embrace Your Sisters was founded in 2006 while fundraising in support of a friend facing breast cancer for the second time. All involved came to realize the extent of the financial demands and wanted to help others too. The goal of EYS is to ease financial stresses placed on individuals and families because of unpaid bills due to medical expenses and loss of ability to work for periods of time. The recipients pay rent/mortgages, utilities, and other daily living bills with the dollars from EYS. Men and women can become victims of breast cancer. Embrace Your Sisters is a resource for our entire community. Their organization is supported by an all volunteer staff and loving donors.
