Trump admits defeat, says there will be an orderly transition of power

President Donald Trump admitted for the first time that he lost the election and that his term is coming to an end after violence and unrest at the U.S. Capitol.

In a statement that was passed through secondary channels due to Trump being blocked by major social media networks – the outgoing President said that there would be an “orderly transition on January 20th” after Congress certified President-elect Joe Biden’s victory during the overnight hours.

“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th,” Trump said in a statement that was released by his social media director. “While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”
