Phelps man faces felony drug charge, case will go before grand jury

An Ontario County man is facing a felony charge, and could face several others as an investigation continues.

Sheriff Kevin Henderson reports the arrest of a Phelps man for third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. It’s a Class B felony, and follows a lengthy investigation and search at a residence on Towline Road in Phelps.

On January 6th deputies executed a search warrant on Walter Reece’s residence on Townline Road in Phelps. The warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation in Ontario County connected to the sale of drugs.

During the search, investigators located MDMA, crack cocaine that was packaged for sale, and paraphernalia that’s used in the sale and distribution of drugs.

The 61-year-old Reece was transported to the Ontario County Jail and set for arraignment at a later time.

Sheriff Henderson says additional charges will be presented to a grand jury. Multiple agencies were involved in the investigation.
