The Seneca County Health Department reported five new deaths attributed to COVID-19 on Tuesday.
Officials said that all of the cases were connected to continued outbreak at Huntington Living Center.
The County also reported 33 new cases, which brought the total number of active cases to 241. Officials noted 19 residents currently hospitalized for COVID-19 and 44 total deaths.
“Please stop the gatherings with people that you do not actually live with,” officials pleaded in a post to Facebook. “It is simply adding to the issue when you get together and spread the virus even further.” They also asked those who test positive to remain in isolation, and to contact the health department within 48 hours if those do not hear from them first. “There have been some issues from labs reporting the cases to the Health Department,” officials added in the post. “Case investigation and contact tracing is underway at this time, please be patient as we continue to work through the ever increasing case load.”
