Crash leads to DWI, drug possession charges in Waterloo

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Savannah resident following a single-vehicle crash in Waterloo.

Robert Morris, 53, was traveling on Route 5 when his vehicle went off the road and crashed into a ditch.

He was subsequently charged with DWI, driving with a BAC over 0.08%, failure to keep right, having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, and speed not reasonable.

Deputies also located a white powder which tested positive for cocaine. He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

No injuries were reported. Morris will appear in local court at a later date.
