Sheriff: Canandaigua man facing felony charges after assault

Sheriff Kevin Henderson reports that one person is in custody after an attack in Canandaigua.

Deputies arrested Dion Roberts, 24, for first-degree criminal contempt following an assault.

It occurred on County Road 10 in Canandaigua around 10:15 a.m. on Monday.

Deputies say the 24-year-old violated a court order and caused serious physical injury to the protected party, which resulted in them requiring extensive medical attention.

The victim was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital by Canandaigua Ambulance.

Roberts was also charged with resisting arrest after he failed to comply with officers. The charges will be answered at a later date.
