Cayuga Community College is targeting a February 1st opening of its culinary center, which is located in downtown Auburn.
The opening aligns with when SUNY colleges across the state anticipate seeing in-person learning resume.
Specifically, the center will be located on the street-level floor of the Plaza of the Arts building. It will face Genesee Street. The expansion downtown was made possible by funding via the Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
“Our partners have done a tremendous job of managing the construction schedule and timeline,” CCC President Brian Durant told The Citizen. “Certainly as a leased facility, we appreciate the efforts that they’re making. The global pandemic has impacted people in a variety of ways, this project is not immune to its impact.
