Deputies say a pedestrian is hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle on Hook Road near Church Avenue in Farmington.
It happened around 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, according to deputies, who say they responded along with Farmington Fire and Victor-Farmington Ambulance.
Deputies say Cassandra Tice, 34, of Shortsville was traveling with her family north on Hook Road when James Tatro, 71, of Farmington crossed the roadway from east into Tice’s lane.
Tatro was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, but is listed in stable but guarded condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Weather conditions and the pedestrian’s dark colored clothing are believed to be factors.
