The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation of a head-on crash that happened on 490 in the town of Victor.
Deputies responded to the scene along with Fishers Fire, Bushnell’s Basin Fire, Victor-Farmington Ambulance, and Perinton Ambulance.
Deputies say Arthur Carey, 70, of Rochester was traveling east when he crossed the media – striking an electric sign owned by DOT. His vehicle then continued into the westbound lanes of 490 – striking an SUV operated by Robert Kester, 67, of Rochester head-on.
Both drivers were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Carey was issued a citation for moving from lane unsafely.
The westbound lanes of 490 was reduced to one during investigation.
