UPDATE: Sheriff Henderson identifies those involved in fatal Manchester crash

Sheriff Kevin Henderson has identified the individuals involved in the fatal two-car wreck late-Sunday in Ontario County.

Shawn Gedney, 46, of Clifton Springs was pronounced dead at the scene, Henderson said. Paul Demay, 60, of Shortsville was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Sheriff Henderson says the crash remains under investigation.



ORIGINAL: One dead, another hospitalized after two-car crash in Manchester

Sheriff Kevin Henderson says deputies are investigating a fatal crash on County Road 13 in the town of Manchester.

It happened Sunday around 9:50 p.m.

Sheriff Henderson says two cars were involved – and the operator of a 2016 Hyundai Sonata was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation.


Meanwhile the operator of a 2012 Ford Escape was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation and no identities were released as of Monday morning.

Finger Lakes Ambulance, Clifton Springs Fire Department, Shortsville Fire Department, and Manchester Fire Department all responded to the scene.

County Road 13 was closed between County Road 7 and Silver Street for approximately three hours as crews worked the scene.
