The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says a Geneva man is in custody after a search warrant was executed on Genesis Way in the town of Geneva on Thursday.
Kyejuan Smallwood, 28, of Geneva was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, which is a Class C felony following an investigation.
Sheriff Kevin Henderson says an investigation was conducted by his office’s Special Investigations Unit, as well as the Geneva PD’s Drug Enforcement Unit after receiving information that Smallwood was selling crack cocaine from another person’s apartment on Genesis Way.
On Thursday a vehicle was stopped and detained Smallwood while officers executed a search warrant on the Genesis Way apartment.
During the search, investigators located a semi-automatic handgun, cocaine, packaging material used in the distribution of narcotics, and U.S. currency.
Sheriff Henderson says the gun was determined to be loaded and was a ‘ghost gun’ as it lacked serial numbers.
Smallwood was on parole for a second-degree robbery conviction at the time of his arrest. He was remanded to the Ontario County Jail without bail.
