Seneca Falls driver charged with aggravated DWI after two-car crash in Tyre

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 4th at about 5:20 p.m. deputies responded to a two-car MVA at the intersection of Routes 5&20 and 89 in the town of Tyre.

Deputies report a vehicle driven by James Savarese, 50, of Seneca Falls was stopped at the light when he was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Paul F. Carissimi,  61, of Seneca Falls.


Upon further investigation, deputies determined Carissimi was intoxicated. He was charged with following too closely, DWI, and Aggravated DWI with a BAC over 0.18%.

Deputies say Carissimi was issued appearance tickets and will appear in the town of Tyre at a later date to answer the charges.
