Sheriff: NYC man taken into custody after resisting arrest, injuring officer

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that one officer was hurt and a man from New York City was taken into custody following a traffic stop on Monday.

Sheriff Kevin Henderson reports that deputies  performed a traffic stop at the corner of Canandaigua and West Main streets in the village of Shortsville following an observed violation.


After investigation it was determined that Jaheim Chapman-Green, 19, of New York City was driving the vehicle without insurance.

During that investigation Chapman-Green was arrested for obstructing governmental administration. Deputies say during the course of him being taken into custody – an officer was hurt.

Chapman-Green was additionally charged with resisting arrest and assault. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail for processing and released on an appearance ticket.
