Toys for Tots sees extraordinary demand but fewer donations in 2020

There’s not enough toys to keep up with demand for families in need.

Senator Helming is partnering with Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Greater Rochester, and Marine Corps League Memorial Day Detachment No. 468 in Clyde, to support the Marine Toys for Tots program.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at Senator Helming’s district office at 425 Exchange Street in Geneva through December 14. The Toys for Tots collection box is in the entryway for safe, contactless drop-off. Gifts will benefit children and families throughout the Finger Lakes region.

“The generosity of our citizens and businesses throughout the pandemic has been extraordinary and inspiring,” said Senator Helming. “Like other nonprofit programs, the need is great this year for Toys for Tots. If you or your business or organization is able to help, your donation will make a difference in the lives of children and youth in our communities. Thank you to everyone for your continued generosity.”

Toys for Tots is in particular need of gifts for teens and pre-teens, as well as traditionally popular items including books, footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, and Play-Doh.
