More than 1,100 SUNY students spent Thanksgiving on-campus.
The SUNY system announced this week that 1,109 students were in quarantine on-campus, and another 86 were isolated with the virus. There were another 399 isolated off-campus.
Students were tested before heading home for the holidays as part of an effort to make sure college students didn’t cause more virus spread.
Schools are providing housing and meals for students who are there. Many campuses are shifting to online learning for the remainder of the semester.
This will mean that a vast majority of students won’t return to campus until late-January.
