The Canandaigua Local Development Corporation has launched two surveys designed to support the development of programs and services aimed at growing and diversifying the local economy.
The Business Climate Survey is open to all City and Town businesses. It aims to address topics including market competitiveness of the community, resource and program needs to support business growth, and improvements to local government services in support of business growth.
The Downtown Building Owner Survey is open to building owners in the City’s central business district, and seeks to identify challenges and opportunities associated with the downtown business stock. The survey covers topics including ownership and investment challenges, support from City government, and general economic climate associated with real estate ownership.
The Local Development Corporation has established a Strategic Action Plan, including priorities of eliminating vacancies and creating vibrancy in the downtown district. The plan also aims to improve the economic competitiveness of developable buildings and sites in the community. The data gathered from these surveys will support programs to make progress on the priorities, officials say.
The Canandaigua LDC was created in 2019 and is a partnership between the City, Town, and the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce. It’s mission is to find new ways to unlock economic potential in the community.
