A garage fire in the town of Cayuta left first responders battling massive flames, but it wasn’t enough to save the structure.
Firefighters from Odessa, Montour Falls, Newfield, Mecklenburg, Watkins Glen, Beaver Dams, Burdett, Millport, Horseheads, and Town & Country were called to the scene Sunday night.
The garage, which was described as being approximately 30-feet by 40-feet large was fully-engulfed with flames.
The strong winds made battling that fire even more difficult. The fire was at a shop on Baranek Road.
The wind brought on concerns because of a nearby home, propane tank, and other cars and structures.
At this point the fire remains under investigation, according to first responders.
