Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Friday that an emergency summit is taking place this weekend with other governors from the Northeast to review Coronavirus Pandemic policies.
Some are concerned that it could lead to new restrictions on businesses across New York as COVID numbers continue to surge.
The state’s positive rate sat at 2.6%.
“The good news is our positive rate is one of the lowest in the country,” Cuomo said during a Friday call with press. “The bad news is we are in the midst of a sea of COVID rising around us.”
There’s also concern that schools could be closed at some point in the coming weeks as cases continue to rise.
