Yankees’ Domingo German set to make first start since domestic violence scandal

Very soon, the Yankees will get their first look in a long time at Domingo German.

German will be the Opening Day starter for Los Toros del Este of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League on Sunday, the team announced on Instagram.

German commented three fire emojis under a photo of him wearing the orange and black jersey of the team that calls the city of La Romana home.

The 28-year-old hasn’t pitched in a professional game since Sept. 18, 2019, when he threw 2 1/3 innings against the Angels at Yankee Stadium. The next day, Major League Baseball put German on administrative leave as it investigated domestic violence allegations against him.
