This week when news broke that Pfizer was making good progress in new studies of its Coronavirus vaccine – local stakeholders started to look at the prospect of keeping that vaccine in storage.
The vaccine has unique storage requirements, and must be kept at -112 degrees Fahrenheit.
Toni Tompkins, who is the supervising pharmacist at the Phelps Hometown Pharmacy, spoke with 13WHAM about what they are doing to prepare.
“We watch it day by day, and we’ll be ready as soon as it’s available,” she told them. “Once they figure out the distribution, hopefully we’ll be part of that.”
Even then, though, it will depend how the state and federal government rolls out any vaccine.
