Governor Andrew Cuomo announced last week that the National Guard would have an increased presence at airports across the state as we approach Thanksgiving.
They have been working with local officials around the state to ensure COVID safety protocols are followed.
This includes necessary testing and quarantining where airports are located.
He also noted that SUNY colleges are starting their testing for students to return home during Thanksgiving break. The SUNY system announced in October that campuses would require students to be tested before they were allowed to leave for home.
Most colleges in the region are going remote after Thanksgiving break.
