Cuomo: It would be ‘reckless’ to allow fans at Bills games

With increased concern as coronavirus cases rise in Western New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo reiterated on Friday that no fans would be allowed at Buffalo Bills games anytime soon.

“It would be reckless to open the stadium up to spectators,” Cuomo told reporters Friday.

Western New York has seen its positive infection rate rise from a 1.5% to 2.8%, and the Rochester area has seen an increase from 1.7% to 2.6%.

Cuomo said that he hoped to attend a game once the pandemic subsided.

Stadium attendance and guidelines have varied across the NFL, depending on state and local health regulations in each market. The Bills have played two road games with a percentage of fans allowed, in Miami and Nashville.
