Finally time for New York to legalize recreational marijuana? Lawmakers say 2021 could be the year

New Jersey voters chose to legalize marijuana on Election Day.

Now, state leaders tell News10NBC that the legalization of recreational marijuana is ‘without a doubt’ on the table in 2021.

The state is dealing with a massive budget gap associated with the Coronavirus Pandemic. However, leaders in State Assembly have said that the pandemic could delay legalization of marijuana.

It’s already been decriminalized. Advocates say this is the next logical step to stay in line with other states moving forward.
