On Monday around 3:40 p.m. police in Ithaca were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery in the 900 block of West State Street.
It was reported at the time that two victims were walking in the area when they were approached by two male subjects, one of which was displaying a gun.
The suspects held the victims at gunpoint, demanding their property. The suspects then left the area on foot – after obtaining various personal items – including cash.
Neither was injured during the course of the incident. It’s believed that the victims and suspects are known to each other, and that they were not targeted at random.
Police say the suspects are described as an approximately 20-year-old Hispanic male, standing around 6′ tall, with a slim build – and medium length braided hair, and dark hair.
Officers canvassed the scene and spoke with witnesses. They also reviewed video surveillance footage from the area.
The investigation is currently ongoing and IPD is asking anyone with information that could help to call 607-272-3245.
