Over the last two years the future of the Auburn Doubledays has been questioned, discussed, and thought over.
Major League Baseball is proposing a hybrid solution for the New York-Penn League.
It would be turned into a wood-bat collegiate league.
City Manager Jeff Dygert, who’s overseeing the team’s operation in the short-term, told the Auburn Citizen that it’s too soon to know what the future will hold.
However, the community wants to see baseball continue in the city.
