Elementary class, teacher quarantined after positive test in Auburn

Despite a second class of students at the Casey Park Elementary School being forced to quarantine for two weeks – Auburn Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo says there’s no cause for concern.

It came after a student in the class tested positive for COVID-19.

Pirozzolo spoke with Finger Lakes News Radio about the positive case, and said that students would go remote while they isolated.

“We can only control what happens within our walls, but unfortunately, these cases are going to keep coming up,” he explained.

He says disinfecting, masks, and social distancing will continue to be priorities throughout the district.

Last week a class and teacher were quarantined due to contact tracing efforts.
