Clyde woman accused of murdering husband after being reported missing, his body was recovered in Cayuga County

New York State Police say a Clyde woman has been charged with murder.

On Sunday police responded to the village of Clyde for a reporting of a missing male adult.

Three days later on Wednesday police arrested Linda Martinez, 53, of Clyde was charged with second-degree murder.

Police said the Clyde woman was committed to the Wayne County Jail awaiting arraignment.


Members of the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team, assisted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and CSX Railroad recovered the body of Rafael Martinez, 59, of Clyde from the Seneca River in Cayuga County.

The victim is the husband of Linda Martinez, but no additional details were released.

State Police are being assisted by the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, the village of Clyde Police Department and the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
