Health officials in Cayuga County reported 21 new cases of COVID-19, as an outbreak connected to the state prison system continues to grow in Southern Cayuga County.
In an update on Friday, officials said that 301 people are in mandatory quarantine, and 94 are in mandatory isolation.
As of that update there were three residents hospitalized from the virus.
The latest confirmed cases this week brings the total number confirmed since the start of the pandemic to 353.
Out of the 63 new cases reported in the last three days in Cayuga County – 44 of them are at the Cayuga Correctional Facility in Moravia.
That facility is managed by DOCCS, who says it is taking precautions on behalf of inmates.
