A former Seneca County official will likely have her day in court. Or at least that’s what is scheduled at this point.
The Finger Lakes Times reports that Brandi Deeds, now Brandi Sheppard, following her October 10th marriage to former Seneca County Manager John Sheppard, will head to court for pre-trial motions on December 9th in Seneca County Court.
An appearance time of 10:15 a.m. is scheduled at this point.
The former county manager was charged with a single-count of official misconducted. That case has been pending for more than a year.
However, the former finance director Brandi Sheppard faces one count of falsifying business records, and was indicted on nine total Class E felony charges, as well as a Class A misdemeanor count.
It’s alleged that she filed timesheets indicating she was at work when she was not on dates in December 2017, February 2018, March 2018, April 2018, and May 2018.
One of the charges she faces is one count of defrauding the government. The original indictment also charged her with grand larceny, as part of that original 10 count rundown.
The cases had been delayed numerous times even before the Coronavirus Pandemic. However, the pandemic caused additional delays in local courts.
