The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation of a personal injury crash that happened at the intersection of State Route 5 and Yagel Road in the town of Seneca.
Deputies say Toni Gergos, 70, of Seneca Castle attempted to pass Randall Rice, 64, of Waterloo, who had signaled a left-hand turn, and attempted to turn onto Yagel Road.
That’s when Gergos failed to see the vehicle signal prior to making a pass attempt. Gergos’ vehicle then struck Randall’s vehicle, causing it to go into a nearby ditch.
Deputies said Gergos was transported to Geneva General Hospital. He was also ticketed for unsafe passing.
