The COVID-19 cluster tied to Keuka College continues to grow — even as students recover.
There have been 100 students infected with the virus, but more than 60 of them have recovered at this time. While it doesn’t mean the campus will be reopening anytime soon, it is good news for the community.
Public health officials reported that 21 out of the 25 new cases over the weekend in Yates County were tied directly to Keuka College. They noted that some of the individuals who tested positive returned home to recover.
There have been 7 deaths, and are 199 individuals in isolation or quarantine in Yates County. Out of 176 total cases to date, 127 have recovered.
Officials also noted that 82% of positive cases in Yates County have been symptomatic year-to-date, as opposed to just 18% that were not.
