Auburn students learning remotely in another state could be kicked out of district on Friday

A local family is facing expulsion from a local school after taking a trip to Missouri that never ended.

Syracuse.com reports that the father of Tyler and Aiden Emmette told Auburn City School District officials that they would return after Labor Day Weekend.

That never happened, though.

The students have been learning remotely in Missouri since then.

Auburn Assistant Superintendent for Student Services Camille Johnson said after that the two students are not entitled to the public schools of the district, while they live in another state.

It could happen relatively quickly now, too.

If the students aren’t back by Friday they will be removed, officials noted.
