While the Syracuse women’s basketball team is awaiting specifics of its 2020-21 schedule, one certainty is that it will look a lot different than the typical fare.
Teams are allowed to begin play on Nov. 25, and the ACC schedule is expected to be released within the next few days. A league spokesperson said last week that each team will play 20 ACC games. That’s an increase of two per team.
Non-conference games will be left up to each school. On a Zoom call Tuesday morning, Orange coach Quentin Hillsman said he thinks his team will have four or five such contests. That’s less than half of SU’s usual slate, a restriction that’s understandable amid the concerns of trying to wedge in a season amid the coronavirus.
