Fatal crash remains under investigation in Ontario County

A Clifton Springs man was killed in a weekend crash that shut down an intersection in the town of Seneca for upwards of three hours.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says that the crash happened at the intersection of County Road 4 and County Road 20 on Saturday.

William White, 63, of Clifton Springs was traveling south on County Road 20 when he failed to stop at the intersection with County Road 4.

John Yannotti, 68, of Geneva was traveling west on County Road 4 and struck White’s vehicle on the driver’s side.

Both Yannotti and his wife were transported to Thompson Hospital for minor injuries by Finger Lakes Ambulance.

Deputies said White was transported to Clifton Springs Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains active into the crash, according to deputies. Hopewell, Stanley, Seneca Castle, and Clifton Springs fire departments assisted at the scene.

The intersection was closed for three hours.
