RIT’s men’s hockey conference announces how it will open 2020-21 season

The conference the Rochester Institute of Technology men’s hockey program plays in right now, the Atlantic Hockey Association, announced on Thursday what its plans are to start the 2020-2021 season. The weekend of November 13-14, 2020 will mark the beginning of the regular season.

Teams in the conference will take part in a 24-game league-approved schedule, with 22 games from that number being conference games. The conference season will culminate with the Atlantic Hockey Tournament that will include all eleven teams in the league and finish up at the LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo.

In order to help with travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, this conference season will see the Atlantic Hockey Association divided into eastern and western geographic pods. RIT is in the western pod alongside Canisius, Mercyhurst, Niagara and Robert Morris.
