Yankees INF DJ LeMahieu has been nominated for the 2020 Hank Aaron award, given out each year to the “most outstanding” offensive performer in each league.
Along with LeMahieu, Jose Abreu of the Chicago White Sox, Jose Ramirez of the Cleveland Indians, Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angeles, Nelson Cruz of the Minnesota Twins, Brandon Lowe of the Tampa Bay Rays, and Teoscar Hernandez of the Toronto Blue Jays have been nominated for the award, which will be voted on by fans at MLB.com/hankaaronaward.
A Hall of Fame panel including Hank Aaron, Ken Griffey Jr., and Johnny Bench will also be voting.
LeMahieu, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the conclusion of the World Series, had a second-straight stellar season in Pinstripes.
The 32-year-old LeMahieu hit .364/.521/.590 with 10 homers in 50 games during the 2020 regular season.
For the 2nd year in a row, @DJLeMahieu is a Hank Aaron Award finalist!
