The Marcus Whitman Central School District opted to keep its high school open — despite a positive COVID-19 case.
While that news may not seem controversial — the district is one of the few to have been able to successfully navigate a positive test — while maintaining operation of the district’s building.
Officials say they learned about the positive case on Tuesday and began contact tracing, according to Finger Lakes News Radio. Video and witness accounts were able to trace students who were exposed.
Ontario County Health Officials say all employees and students were following safety protocols and social distancing.
Other districts have had to move to remote learning due to staff members coming down with COVID-19.
