Sheriff Kevin Henderson announced a series of drug arrests in Ontario County, as part of a series of search warrants that were executed in the towns of Canandaigua and Hopewell over the last several days.
On September 30th investigators executed search warrants at three separate locations in connection to an ongoing drug investigation into the distribution and sale of narcotics.
Investigators executed the warrants at Patty’s Lodge along Routes 5&20, the Finger Lakes Lodge on County Road 10, and the Brentwood Apartments.
The warrants were executed simultaneously, according to Henderson. Investigators located fentanyl that was packaged for sale, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia used in the distribution and sale of narcotics in those locations.
The following arrests and charges were announced by Henderson:
– James Hilligus, 46, of Dansville, was arrested at the Finger Lakes Lodge for criminal possession of a controlled substance – a Class A2 felony count, after being found to have methamphetamine in his possession. He was remanded to the Ontario County Jail without bail.
– Jose Arzuaga, 41, and Kristen Drennen, 30, both of Canandaigua were arrested at the Brentwood Apartments and each charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance – as a misdemeanor. They were found to be in possession of heroin. They were issued appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
Joseph Heasley, 34, of Canandaigua was located three days after the initial warrant executions and charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance as a Class B felony. He’s accused of selling fentanyl to another person in August. He was arraigned and held without bail due to ‘several’ previous felony convictions, according to Henderson.
The Sheriff says more arrests are expected and additional charges will be presented to an Ontario County Grand Jury at a later date.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and police departments from Geneva and Canandaigua.
