Public hearings scheduled for 30% toll increases along NYS Thruway

Do you have an opinion on whether toll increases should happen along the New York State Thruway?

Some are concerned about whether the public will be heard regarding the proposed increases of 30% for non-E-ZPass customers. However, the Thruway Authority says it will be doing its part by holding a series of public hearings on the topic.

They are set for October 13th, October 14th, and October 15th.

The plan right now is to increase tolls by 30% for drivers without an E-ZPass. By the time that rate increase hits the road – toll-by-mail will be underway for non E-ZPass users. It would be the first increase in a decade if approved.

Here’s the upcoming schedule:

– Tuesday, October 13th from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
– Wednesday, October 14th from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
– Thursday, October 15th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Members of the public may register at thruway.ny.gov to comment during the virtual public hearings, and provide their name, phone number and valid email address.

A confirmation email will sent to speakers with instructions on how to participate in the Webex hearing.

Members of the public may also submit comments by email to [email protected].
