Police: Canandaigua man arrested on felony charges after counterfeit bills passed at local businesses

A Canandaigua resident was arrested on two felony charges after an investigation into counterfeit money being passed at a pair of local businesses.

The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of Trevon Priest, 25, for possessing a forged instrument. The Class C felony charges were the only ones reported in a press release on Monday.

Police said Priest is accused of passing two counterfeit $20 bills, with the intent to defraud the businesses involved.

He was arrested last week and taken to the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment.
