Deputies say a two-year-old was struck by a vehicle in the town of Williamson on Thursday around 5:40 p.m.
It happened on Lake Avenue. Deputies say the two-year-old had entered the roadway – chasing after a dog – at which point the child was struck by a vehicle.
The operator of the vehicle was not at fault, according to deputies, who said no citations were issued.
The young child was transported by Williamson Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for complaints of pain and a full evaluation.
Deputies say they were assisted at the scene by Medic84, Williamson Fire Department, and the Williamson Ambulance.
