One charged with assault, felony possession of weapon after incident in Seneca County

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Newark resident following a domestic incident.

Deputies say Sydney Brown, 37, of Newark was charged with assault, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Vineyard Road in Romulus where Brown bit and grabbed a victim – leaving marks.

It’s also alleged that Brown held a knife to the victim’s throat – making threats of physical violence.

Brown was placed into custody and arraigned. The charges will be answered at a later date.
