Ontario County Public Health says they are working with state Department of Health and Seneca Lake Terrace Assisted Living and Memory Care in Geneva to trace and investigate new COVID-19 cases at the facility.
Three residents have tested positive. Officials say more testing is underway. However, there have also been reports to Public Health that employees who live in other counties tested positive.
They say more testing will be important to preventing the spread further inside the facility.
Local public health officials say they are working closely with the state to ensure that the outbreak does not worsen inside the facility.
Earlier this week, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a reduction in the restrictions for visitation at nursing homes. Instead of requiring 28 days, those facilities will now only require 14 days between COVID cases.
