Newark driver falsely reports accident at Sauder’s store in Seneca Falls

The Seneca Falls Police Department reports the arrest of a 28-year-old Newark resident following a hit-and-run crash investigation.

The original incident occurred on August 20th, according to police. They say Rebecca Castro, 28, of Newark was involved in a property damage crash int he parking lot of the Sauder’s Store.

She backed into a parked, unoccupied vehicle, then fled the scene without reporting it to the owner or police.

Castro went to another location and later called police claiming the crash happened there. She was charged with leaving the scene of a crash and falsely reporting an incident.
