One hospitalized, another ticketed after violent rollover crash in Phelps

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation of a rollover crash at the intersection of County Roads 23 and 6 in the town of Phelps.

Deputies say Phelps Ambulance and Oaks Corners Fire Department responded to the scene when a flat bed truck, traveling east, and operated by Glenn Mead, 38, of Bloomfield failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

Katrina Casarez, 31, of Lyons was traveling south on County Road 6 in a Jeep and was struck on the driver’s side. Her vehicle then rolled over and landed on the roof.

She was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. Deputies say Mead was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
