Are drones going to be delivering Amazon packages?
It’s possible. The Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA has approved Amazon to operate a fleet of ‘Prime Air delivery drones’.
Amazon has been testing this technology since 2013. However, it hadn’t received approval until recently.
In its petition to the FAA, Amazon said deliveries would occur in areas with low population density and packages would weigh five pounds or less.
What does that mean? Well, Amazon packages could be delivered in 30 minutes or less in some locations.
It’s unclear how Amazon plans to roll out this technology.
